  • This has to be the best group for anyone with bad or no experience with Christians. Like many in this area, these folks seem genuinely warm and friendly, but without being sticks in the mud. I didn't see a dressed-up person in the bunch. And, their meeting place is more like a coffee house and theater room than a well-to-do temple.

As soon as you walk in, the sweet smell of Java and caramel hit you (already a great first impression). The coffee bar is right there at the front door! I'm sure they planned it that way. I'm a sucker for good brew. And, I'm grateful it's not that nasty Folgers crap. They even have a selection of Keurig K-cups. But, I usually opt for the brewed pot, since the taste is much better than average.

Anyway, after prepping your cup of Joe and greeting a few folks, you settle into a seat. Then, surprise! The lights turn down and you are treated to a live band leading concert-like praise and worship. The music is a bit soft for my taste and the key tends to be a bit high for my vocal range. But, it is contemporary. So, I'm not complaining.

The Pastor isn't the stand-offish type. If you're new, he'll make it a point to meet you. This may intimidate some (not me). But, honestly, you would never know this guy was a Reverend. He cuts-up and jokes just like the rest of them.

In summary, I think this group makes a great first impression, providing a casual place to learn about Christianity and meet others after the same without having to worry about being pretentious or around those who are. I'll be back. I hope to see you there!
